You’ve seen her, you know her, you love her! This month we are shining the spotlight on long-time Vaughan Chamber of Commerce volunteer, Mary Patrick.

Mary works as the Senior Corporate Sales Manager at Dave & Buster’s Vaughan, and has been active with the Vaughan Chamber for ten years.  She currently sits on the Business Achievement Awards Committee where she does various tasks including interviewing and judging nominees. You’ll be able to meet Mary in August as Dave & Buster’s once again hosts the Chamber’s Member Appreciation BBQ Bash on their patio.

Mary says she volunteers with the Vaughan Chamber because she believes in what the organization stands for.

“For Dave & Buster’s, the Chamber has been a pillar for us to help build our business client base and help us spread our roots within the community,” said Mary. “For me personally, the Chamber has allowed me the opportunity to grow and flourish within the business community.”

One of Mary’s favourite memories over the years was when she was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award in the Hospitality category at the Business Achievement Awards. Dave & Buster’s have won this award four times in the last 12 years.  She says that being recognized by her peers was such an honour and one of the highlights of her career.

Mary has been working for Dave & Buster’s for over 18 years. She started off as a marketing manager but later switched to an events role.

“I found my calling, it had been there in front of me,” she said.

Mary continued to grow in her career and now holds the title of Senior Corporate Sales Manager. In this role, she oversees all events and sales, as well as public relations in terms of community involvement and business.

We asked Mary what advice she’d give for people thinking about joining as a member of the Vaughan Chamber – she said, “Don’t join the Chamber just for the certificate, you need to get involved. See the opportunity that the Chamber puts forth to help grow business and create a stronger business community.”

Thank you Mary for continuing to go above and beyond for our organization and the Vaughan community overall.  Your energy is infectious and you’re a true shining star in our books!
