This dedicated volunteer deserves the spotlight! We’re talking about Jennifer Montesano from BDC.

Long-time member Jennifer Montesano has been volunteering her time with the Vaughan Chamber of Commerce for over seven years. She says she finds it rewarding in both business and personal perspectives.

Jennifer says her involvement with the Chamber helps her own network and that she enjoys seeing other companies and professionals succeed.

“Bottom line, I love the people involved in the Chamber and have a great time working with them,” says Jennifer. “My favourite memory volunteering was at the 25th anniversary of the Business Achievement Awards – I loved the energy that came along with the event.”

Jennifer started as a volunteer on the Marcom/Membership Committee, helping with various projects like promotions and advertisements, and also worked on strategies to help increase membership levels.

Since then, Jennifer joined the Business Achievement Awards Committee, where she assisted with the nomination and judging process. The past four years, she has taken on more responsibilities within the committee as a core member.

In addition to serving on committees, Jennifer has also volunteered at the annual golf tournament and was involved with the BDC sponsorship for past Mayor’s Luncheons.

We asked Jennifer to provide advice to anyone thinking about volunteering and she said, “It’s time well spent.”  She advises that volunteering is a two-way street and you get out what you put in.

Jennifer is a Manager, Major accounts at Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC). BDC is devoted to entrepreneurs helping them create and develop their business through financing, advisory services and capital.

Thank you, Jennifer, for your devotion to the Vaughan Chamber of Commerce. Volunteers help continue to push this organization forward – we can’t do it without you!
