Now that the 2019 Women to Women Symposium has just been announced, what better time to recognize the leading force behind making this event a success year after year.

Vaughan Chamber of Commerce volunteer, Isabella Bertani, has been working closely with the Chamber for over seven years and currently serves as Chair of the Women’s Leadership Committee. Through this committee, she works towards the economic empowerment of women in Vaughan and the GTA.

“It’s important to give back to the community,” said Isabella when asked why she chooses to volunteer with the Vaughan Chamber. She went on to say that she is passionate about working towards eliminating barriers in terms of gender equality and is proud that the Chamber acts as a platform to help with these advancements.

Isabella enjoys her time on the Women’s Leadership Committee and says it’s a pleasure to work with her fellow members. She said her favourite memory as a volunteer was during the 2017 Women to Women Symposium when the Vaughan Women of Excellence Award was first introduced.

“I was really excited about this new award and felt the event was a real turning point that set the bar even higher,” said Isabella.

As a huge supporter of the Vaughan Chamber, we asked Isabella to provide advice for people thinking about joining the network.  She encouraged business owners and professionals to get involved.

“Use the benefits, go to the events and meet people,” said Isabella. “Take advantage of everything the Chamber has to offer!”.

Isabella is a Chartered Professional Accountant who focuses on inbound foreign direct investment and Canadian domestic companies with global interests. She advises foreign corporations with regards to expansion into the Canadian market. Aside from working, Isabella loves spending her free time with her dog Bowie – who even has his own Instagram account (@bowiesstory)!

Thank you Isabella, for your dedication to not only the Vaughan Chamber as a whole but to women in business within our local community. Your passion and spirit is immeasurable!
