The Vaughan Chamber of Commerce and its distribution partner, Harkel Office Furniture have come together to provide free rapid self-screening kits to small and mid-sized businesses that employ up to 150 employees.
“The goal of the Vaughan ChamberSafe Program is to identify asymptomatic cases of COVID-19 in the workplace that might otherwise be missed, helping to curb the spread in the workplace, at home, and around the community,” said Brian Shifman, President and CEO of the Vaughan Chamber of Commerce. “I am very pleased to report that there has been tremendous uptake of this complimentary program, which was started as a pilot project through our Chamber partners, Kitchener-Waterloo and Cambridge, and expanded through the efforts of the Ontario Chamber.”
Rapid testing is one of the primary ways to help ensure workplace safety during the pandemic as vaccinations continue to roll out. Both Vaughan Chamber members and non-members are encouraged to participate in this free program. Orders will be based on limited supply, on a first-come, first-served basis. To place an order for a two-week supply of Abbott Panbio Antigen screening kits, please visit https://bit.ly/2U0Qwuf.
“We are just so pleased to be supporting such a critical health and safety initiative in our community with the Vaughan Chamber,” said Howard Klerer, President, Harkel Office Furniture. “I would strongly encourage businesses to take advantage of this program. These kits are easy to administer and send a clear message to staff and visitors that a business is taking appropriate precautions during the pandemic.”
Of note, businesses are required to appoint a screening supervisor who will be responsible for supervising the self-screening process of their co-workers. The kits will be available for pick-up by appointment only at Harkel Office Furniture, 1743 Creditstone Road, Concord. Order processing will begin immediately with pickups by pre-scheduled times, effective June 30th onward.
