We are looking for a Settlement Manager who will continue to raise the bar and tackle the great initiatives ahead for this team!

Position Summary

Our team, led by our Senior Director of Settlement Services, is at the forefront of emerging trends in the payment industry, such as e-commerce, payments solutions, and strategic partnership.

Our team contributes to the overall success of managing all Debit and Credit Card transactions for our clients right from authorization through to clearing and settlement. This end-to-end capability is a competitive advantage for PSP, enabling our clients to meet their financial needs.

The team is also responsible for providing data insights on all aspects of our business practices. The data is used to identify opportunities for process improvements and out of box thinking beyond numbers.

 

Position Responsibilities

What you will work on:

As the Settlement Manager, you will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

· Provide expert knowledge of settlement processes, policies, & systems, and work to influence peers and senior management to adopt, implement and align to recommended processes.

· Develop and implement highly effective processes and complex reconciliations tailored to each line of product or program.

· Manage staff involved in payment processing, clearing, and dispute resolution, including movement of cash to and from financial institutions/merchants.

· Utilize Excel extensively to generate meaningful reports from very large data sets.

· Reconcile settlement to bank and follow up on out-of-balance situations.

· Lead the resolution of financial impacts caused by major system outages.

· Review monthly settlement analysis for volumes and performance by Network, Product or Client, while providing updates to the Executive team

· Assist with month-end close and support audit requirements.

· Identify opportunities of process improvements and innovation.

· Collaborate and actively engage with multi functional teams to ensure that the financial objectives are secured.

· Manage escalation for resolutions across all stakeholders while maintaining excellent working relationships.

What you must have:

To be considered for this role, we are looking for someone with the following skills/qualifications:

· 5+ years experience in payment industry, partnering with acquiring banks, Card Brands, and clients.

· Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian payment processing systems and card network compliance and operating regulations would be a significant asset.

· University degree in Commerce or Finance.

· Knowledge of Accounting systems.

· Advanced MS Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, formulas and working with a very large datasets) with a high mathematical aptitude.

· Strong time-management and team-management abilities
