Position Summary
As a Product Development Manager at RONCO, you will play a crucial role in driving sales growth and market penetration within your designated geographical area. Your primary responsibilities will include managing and nurturing relationships with distributors and end users, promoting our range of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) products, and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction. This role demands a strategic approach to product management, outstanding interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently while contributing to the overall success of the product management team.

Position Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and present new product proposals and present them to senior management for approval.
- Manage all new product development projects at RONCO, while ensuring organization’s business objectives, product positioning strategies, budget requirements, sales and profit objectives and distribution channels.
- Work closely with Product Managers and Marketing team to develop the new product strategy and transition to regular product line.
- Research new sources for product development across various countries.
- Researching patents, copyrights and trademarks to make sure there are no infringement issues involved.
- Provide input and direction to suppliers in determining optimal inventory levels, design criteria, feature and benefit characteristics and in the development of new products.
- Ensure all packaging and labelling requirements for new products are met.
- Ensure that we have full understanding of regulatory and certification requirements of the products being developed – for Canadian, and other international markets as needed.
- Acquire in-depth product, market knowledge, and provide appropriate competitive analysis to ensure complete data on technology, features, markets, pricing, services, etc.
- Research, review and analyze appropriate market information such as market size segments, growth, trends, product life cycles, etc.
- Ensure that our pricing strategies are competitive while maintaining company profitability targets.
- Determine the required amounts of investment to provide appropriate advertising, literature and product specific marketing materials. Work within established budgets to obtain the most efficient use of available funds.
- Adapt and make changes to project plans as and when needed.
- Other duties as assigned per business requirements.
SKILL & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in research and product development, process and execution.
- Knowledge of basic product marketing fundamentals, theories, and processes.
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Able to work effectively as a team member and as a team leader.
- Able to schedule, plan, prioritize own work in accordance with goals of NPI (New Product Introduction).
- Excellent project management skills – ability to execute projects within timelines outlined in the project plan.
- Ability to prepare concise presentations and present them with confidence to internal and in support of the sales team at customer levels.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office, including advanced knowledge of Excel. MS Project an asset.
- Knowledge of PPE products and industry regulations is a definite advantage.
Position Qualifications
- DESIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- A university degree in Marketing, Product Development Management, Project Management or a related field.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in product development with three (3) years of experience within a PPE company.
- Demonstrated Project Management skills and a record of project achievement on time and within budget.
- Knowledge or experience in PPE and/or the environmental market is an asset.
