We would like to announce that, effective August 19th, 2022, Brian Shifman, President & Chief Executive Officer of the Vaughan Chamber of Commerce, is leaving the organization to start a new chapter as the Executive Vice President at York Region Rapid Transit.
Brian has been a key member of the Chamber for over 14 years. He previously served on the VCC Board of Directors in progressive roles and ultimately as the Chair of the Board. In 2015, he was appointed President & CEO of the Vaughan Chamber of Commerce.
Over the past seven years, Brian has worked with our board of directors and team to lead transformational change of the organization, and truly serve as the voice of the business community. Under Brian’s leadership, we were able to expand our membership, enhance our value proposition, and ensure that networking through high-profile events, member savings, and public policy are all at the core of what we stand for.
His efforts to support the business community throughout Covid included the launch of “Support Vaughan Local” initiatives, strategies to enable small business to go digital, the successful movement of all major events to an online platform, and together with Harkel Office, ensured the distribution of 160,000+ free rapid antigen test kits to 2,500 businesses.
Brian, thank you for your outstanding work during your time with the Vaughan Chamber of Commerce. While you will be greatly missed, your contributions to the Chamber, and the Vaughan and York Region community won’t be forgotten. On behalf of the Board of Directors, we wish you great success in your new role.
I want to assure our members that Chamber programs and services will not be disrupted through this transition. The Chamber will be making an announcement on next steps in the near future.
With Regards,
Jeremy Neil
Chair of the Board of Directors
Vaughan Chamber of Commerce
