When the business community comes together, great things happen.

On Thursday, May 3rd, we celebrated our 29th annual Business Achievement Awards, honouring the 14 different businesses that shine brightest in our community. Emcees, John Derringer from Q107 and Tony Monaco from Z103.5 kept the crowd, of close to 700 guests, energized throughout the evening and into the After Party.

Our final award, the 2018 Philanthropic Business Person of the Year, was presented to Dr. Franca Carella, Founder of The Vitanova Foundation. Franca took the stage and captivated the audience with her touching acceptance speech, which highlighted her accomplishments within the Foundation and the city of Vaughan.

Franca received a standing ovation and the crowd continued to stand during her entire speech, which concluded with these words:

“I promise you to be there every day. Even though my body may weaken, my mind is strong because I have a purpose, and for that purpose I am blessed.”

Congratulations to all of the nominees and to our 2018 winners!
